Summary
The security staff provides for the safety and security of students, staff and visitors by monitoring the school campus, enforcing policies and procedures and patrolling inside and outside of buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforce school rules, regulations, and policies for the safety and security of students, staff, visitors and property.
- Patrol assigned routes within buildings and grounds watching for unauthorized persons, hazardous situations and suspicious activity.
- Assist in supervision of hallways, common areas, restrooms, lunchroom and bus arrival/dismissal.
- Inspect and secure doors, windows and gates.
- Maintain campus safety by monitoring and directing crowds at campus events, athletic events and any school sponsored events.
- Maintain a visible and accessible presence to students and staff.
- Providing directions or assistance to visitors, staff and students.
- Other duties as assigned that pertain to this position.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional and friendly demeanor with demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast paced environment.
